HC Deb 22 January 1878 vol 237 c319
THE O'CONOR DON

asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether he could state whether it was intended that the Motion for Thursday relating to the Business of the House was to take precedence over the other Orders of the Day?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER

Yes; I propose to give Notice that the Orders of the Day be postponed until after that matter has been disposed of, in order that it may be brought on with all possible speed.

MR. MOWBRAY

asked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether he would add to his Motion for a Committee on the Business of the House, so that it should include his (Mr. Mowbray's) Motion on the 12.30 rule?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER,

in reply, said, he would communicate with his right hon. Friend, but he did not think it would be advisable.
