§ MR. RITCHIEasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether his attention has been directed to the Report of the Select Committee on the Metropolitan Eire Brigade; and, whether it is the intention of the Government to introduce a Bill dealing with the subject during the present Session?
MR. ASSHETON CROSS,in reply, said, his attention had been directed to the Report of the Select Committee, and a very valuable Report it was; but he was afraid he could not hold out any hopes of being able to introduce a measure based upon it this Session. All he could say was that the matter was under the consideration of Her Majesty's Government at the present moment.
