MR. ASHBURTasked Mr. Chancellor of the Exchequer, Whether the attention of Her Majesty's Government has been directed to a pamphlet, printed in Constantinople, entitled "Les Re-sponsibilites," purporting to give copies of letters from eminent Russians, inspiring rebellion in Bosnia, Herzegovina, and adjacent Provinces; and, whether any measures have been taken to ascertain if the originals of the letters in question, now or lately in possession of the Porte, are authentic documents?
§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUERCopies of this pamphlet have been sent to the various Members of Her Majesty's Government, including myself, and, from what I can learn, it seems probable that some of the documents containing letters are authentic. I have, however, no such information as would justify me in speaking with certainty on the subject.
