HC Deb 12 August 1878 vol 242 cc1763-4
DR. CAMERON

asked the Secretary to the Treasury, Whether the scheme for the reorganization of the Customs Department, according to which the ordinary terms of retirement under the Superannuation Act of 1859, are offered to the clerks in London, will apply as well to the out-port clerks?

SIR HENEY SELWIN-IBBETSON

I can only repeat what I have already intimated to the House—that there is no intention on the part of the Government to offer to any officers of the Customs, in London or at the outports, terms of retirement other than those under the Act of 1859.
