HC Deb 08 August 1878 vol 242 cc1531-2
GENERAL SIR GEORGE BALFOUR

asked the President of the Local Government Board, If he has had his attention drawn to the delays in submitting to Parliament the Annual Reports of Births, Marriages, and Deaths of the three divisions; and, whether any improvement can be effected by more promptly rendering these Reports, so as to extend their utility?

MR. SCLATER-BOOTH,

in reply, said, that his attention had been called to the delay in the presentation of these Reports. He had communicated with the Registrar General, who had informed him that he would take, and had taken, measures in order that the next annual Report should be produced in April next instead of July. With regard to Scotland and Ireland, the Chief Secretary for Ireland and the Lord Advocate were in communication with the Registrar General of those countries.
