§ MR. PARNELLobjected to the House being called upon to go into Committee after half-past 12 o'clock. He thought that no Business ought to be taken after that hour, and begged to move the adjournment of the debate.

§ THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUERexplained that the Bill was simply formal.
§ MR. BIGGARsaid, he objected to the system of taking Business after half-past 12. He had no objection to the Committee being taken; but he wished an understanding to be arrived at under which Members might be allowed to go home after half-past 12.
§ MR. PARNELLsaid, he would withdraw his Motion, but he thought the Bill might have been put on the Paper earlier and taken before this hour.
