§ LORD GEORGE HAMILTONThe Conferences at Peshawur, Sir, were for the purpose of making communications to the Ameer, which if a British Envoy were permitted to reside in the Ameer's territories would have been made through the ordinary diplomatic channels. No change in our obligations to the Ameer has been the result of the Conference, but it would not be consistent with the interests of the public service to publish the conversation.
