GORSTasked the First Lord of the Admiralty, When it is expected that the Joint Committee of the Treasury and Admiralty, appointed in February last to consider the scheme for the amelioration of the position of Marine Officers, will make their Report; and whether there is any foundation for the rumour that the scheme has been shelved?
§ MR. A. F. EGERTON, in reply, said, the Joint Committee referred to had met several times and were proceeding with their investigation. He hoped the Committee would make their Report shortly. There was no foundation whatever for the rumour referred to.
