MR. WHALLEY

rose to move the following Resolution:— Having regard to the vast and increasing amount of Imperial and local taxation, the continued depression and decline of trade, commerce, and manufactures, and the necessity for affording the utmost practicable freedom to industrial operations; also, having regard to the fact that endowment of particular creeds and forms of worship is opposed alike to the interests of religion and morality, and to the principles of civil and religious liberty, it is expedient that the public money now applied to the support of the particular creed or form of worship known as that of the Church of England should be appropriated towards the liquidation of the National Debt or other relief of such public burthens, subject to full compensation for all existing interests affected thereby when—
