§ Motion made, and Question proposed, "That the Bill be now read a second time."
§ SIR WILLIAM HARCOURTsaid, that the Bill proposed considerable changes in the system of licensing, and he objected to its being taken at that time of night.
§ MR. MUNDELLAsaid, he intended to move in Committee that it be simply a suspensory Bill for one year. Considering a Lords' Committee was investigating the whole question, it was desirable there should not in the meantime be an immense multiplication of these licences over which there was no jurisdiction.
§ LORD FREDERICK CAVENDISHmoved the Adjournment of the Debate.
§ Motion agreed to.
§ Debate adjourned till Wednesday.
