BARCLAYasked the First Lord of the Admiralty Whether 970 he will instruct the officers in command of the gun-boats cruising on the Coast for protection of the herring fisheries, to give fishermen such reasonable assistance as they prudently can to recover nets abandoned at sea during heavy storms, and specially to endeavour to prevent such nets from being carried off by Foreign fishermen?
§ MR. A. F. EGERTONSir, the commanders of gun-boats will be ordered to give such assistance as far as practicable, and it is part of their instructions to protect British fishermen from improper interference by foreign boats.
