HC Deb 15 February 1877 vol 232 c383
DR. WARD

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty, Whether an inquiry has been ordered into the outbreak of scurvy among the crews of H.M.S. "Alert" and "Discovery" during the recent expedition to the North Pole; and, if so, whether he will lay the Report upon the Table of the House?

MR. HUNT

Yes, I have appointed a Committee to inquire into the cause of this outbreak of scurvy. The Committee has made very considerable progress in its labours, and I hope before long it will make its Report. I shall be happy to lay both the Report and the evidence on the Table when I have received them.
