GENERAL SIR GEORGE BALFOUR

asked the Government, If they will timely bring under consideration the arrangements for taking the next Census, so as to correct defects and provide for omissions in the previous Census; and, if they will direct an inquiry or order a revision to be made of the heads under which information is to be recorded in the reports on the Census, with a view to establish uniformity in these reports from the several divisions of the kingdom, so as to avoid prolixity and provide more accurate information?

, in reply, said, the Government were obliged to the hon. and gallant Member for calling their attention to the expediency of arrangements being made in the matter referred to in the Question, and it should be considered in the interval.
