§ SIR EARDLEY WILMOTasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, If he can hold out any hope of Her Majesty's Government introducing, during the present Session, a measure for the appointment of a public prosecutor?
MR. ASSHETON CROSSI think I stated some time ago to my hon. Friend that a measure of this kind was prepared; but, I am sorry to say, looking to the state of the Order Book and the facilities afforded to the Government for carrying on the Public Business, I do not see much probability that we shall be able to bring it forward.
