HC Deb 12 April 1877 vol 233 c971
MR. OSBORNE MORGAN

asked Mr. Attorney General, Whether his attention has been called to the Cause List of the Chancery Division which has just been published, and to the fact that, although the Judges of that Division have been sitting for the despatch of business almost continuously since Christmas, Cases set down before them have largely exceeded in number the cases disposed of; and, whether, under these circumstances, he will state to the House when the contemplated arrangements for the appointment of an additional Judge of that Division are likely to be completed and carried into effect?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL,

in reply, said, that in the event of Parliament assenting to the proposal of the Government for the appointment of a now Judge, the necessary arrangements relating to the appointment would be made without the slightest delay.
