asked the Under Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Whether his attention has ben called to the report of an attack made by a Chinese mob near Hankow on the Reverend Griffith John, a Welsh missionary; if so, whether he can state the circumstances; and, whether any action can be taken in the premisses?

No communication upon the subject has been received by the Foreign Office; but, in consequence of the Question which has now been put by my hon. Friend, a representation will be made to Her Majesty's Minister at Pekin.
