HC Deb 01 May 1876 vol 228 c1909
SIR HENRY JAMES

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether there is any objection to place before the House Copies of the proceedings in relation to the application for the extradition of Wilmslow; and, of the Correspondence which has taken place between Her Majesty's Government and that of the United States in reference to the same subject?

MR. ASSHETON CROSS

Sir, of course there can be no objection to placing all Correspondence and all Papers upon the Table of the House in due time; but the noble Lord the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs agrees with me in thinking that the production of them at the present time would be injurious to the public interests.
