HC Deb 28 March 1876 vol 228 cc695-6
MR. SULLIVAN

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland, What action, if any, has been taken by the Inspectors of Irish Fisheries since their appointment in reference to the Act 29 and 30 Vic. c. 88, s. 3, and the 29 and 30 Vic. c. 97, s. 14, and the number of licences they have revoked for non-compliance with the Act?

SIR MICHAEL HICKS-BEACH

Preliminary inquiries have been made in 37 cases, and the Inspectors have decided on revoking nine licences for non-compliance with the Acts. In some cases an extended time has been given to the licences to cultivate the oyster beds, and others are under consideration.
