CHARLES LEWISasked the Chief Secretary for Ireland, Whether it is the intention of the Government, during the present Session, to bring in a Bill to unite the offices of Clerk of the Crown and Clerk of the Peace in Ireland; and, if it is their intention to do so, whether the same will be brought in in sufficient time to enable Members to consider its provisions along with the Bill to extend the jurisdiction of the Civil Bill Courts?
§ SIR MICHAEL HICKS-BEACH, in reply, said, it was the intention of the Government to bring in such a Bill, and he hoped to be able to lay it before the House in sufficient time for the purpose referred to by the hon. Member.
