§ MR. ANDERSONasked the Postmaster General, If his recommendation 1711 for the withdrawal of the Royal Engineers from the Postal Telegraph Service "on financial grounds," contained in his letter of the 23rd December lately laid upon the Table of the House, was founded on any Report on the financial results of that employment made by the Receiver and Accountant General of the Post Office; and, if he will lay upon the Table of the House, any Report that has been made by that official on the subject?
§ LORD JOHN MANNERS, in reply, said, that his letter was not founded on any Report on the financial results of the employment of Engineers in the Postal Service made by the Receiver and Accountant General of the Post Office. That Report was of a confidential and departmental character, and he did not think that it would be for the public interest to lay it on the Table of the House.
