BROGDENasked the Secretary of State for War, If it is intended to give the same retiring allowances to old Adjutants of Volunteers as are now given to Militia Adjutants; and, if it is intended to give any additional pay to Volunteer Adjutants who perform the duties of District Recruiting Officers as a remuneration for such services?
MR. GATHORNE HARDY, in reply, said, it was not intended to increase the retiring allowances of old Adjutants of Volunteers, and that no old Adjutants except those on full pay, or who came under the five years' rule, would be called upon to discharge the duties of recruiting officers.
