§ LORD GEORGE HAMILTONAvery voluminous correspondence has passed between the Secretary of State and the Civil Service Commissioners and the Government of India upon the present mode of selecting and educating candidates for the Civil Service of India. The Secretary of State does propose certain alterations in the present system; but these alterations do not apply to the method of selection, but to the subsequent training of the selected candidates. The whole of these Papers are in the printer's hands, and will shortly be presented to Parliament.
