HC Deb 15 June 1876 vol 229 c1895
MR. LEITH

asked the Under Secretary of State for India, If the Government are prepared to name a day for bringing forward, in this House, the Indian Budget?

LORD GEORGE HAMILTON

I do not think that it would be for the convenience of the House that the Indian Budget should be discussed before the Report of the Select Committee appointed to inquire into the depreciation of silver is in the hands of Members. When that Report is published, I hope that the state of Public Business will be such as to enable me to give a definite answer.
