SAMPSON LLOYDasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether Her Majesty's Government intend to take any steps this Session, or early next Session, to give effect to the recommendations of the Royal Commission appointed to inquire into the working of the Factory and Workshops Acts?
MR. ASSHETON CROSS, in reply, said, it was not the intention of the Government to bring forward a measure founded on the Report of that Commission during the present Session. The Government were of opinion that it was necessary the country should have time to study all the recommendations of that Report, which was very voluminous. The question would have to be dealt with in the next Session of Parliament.
