asked the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies, If it is true, as stated in the "Daily News" of 28th July (by Eastern Telegraph), that a British force is about to land, or has already landed, at Ecoportonova, on the West Coast of Africa, with the intention of proceeding up the country to attack the capital of Dahomey?

, in reply, said, that no information had reached the Government leading them to believe that any attack on the capital of the King of Dahomey was contemplated, neither had they authorized any such proceeding.
