asked the Postmaster General, If he has received a letter signed by the Harbour Master of Porthleven in Cornwall, on the subject of telegraph communication to that place; and, whether he has considered the facts stated in that letter; and if under the circumstances he sees his way to join Porthleven by telegraph to Helston at an early date?

LORD JOHN MANNERS,

in reply, said, he had received such a letter, but under existing circumstances he was not prepared to take any steps in the matter.
