HC Deb 27 July 1876 vol 230 c1973
MR. A. MOORE

asked Mr. Solicitor General for Ireland, Whether it is legal for the Irish Church body, or any of its component parts, to sell ecclesiastical edifices which have fallen into disuse?

THE SOLICITOR GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Mr. Plunket)

In my opinion it would be legal for the representative body of the Irish Church to dispose of any ecclesiastical edifice vested in them by the Act of 1869, if directed to do so by the General Synod of the Irish Church.
