HC Deb 04 July 1876 vol 230 c985
MR. TENNANT

rose to call attention to the Report of the Commission upon "the working of the Factory and Workshop Acts;" and to move— That, in any measure for the consolidation and amendment of the Factory and Workshop Acts, it is desirable, in the interests alike of employers and employed, that all trades and manufactures employing the same class of labour should be placed upon the same footing and under the same protective and restrictive provisions. The hon. Gentleman said, he was aware that in calling attention to this question he was introducing a dry and uninteresting subject. It was important, however, affecting as it did the manufacturing interests of this country.

Notice taken, that 40 Members were not present; House counted, and 40 Members not being present,

House adjourned at five minutes after Nine o'clock.
