CAPTAIN PRICEasked the First Lord of the Admiralty, Whether he has examined the amended proposal for the formation of a Fund for making provision for the Widows of the Seamen and Marines of the Fleet; and, whether he will recommend the Government to assist the scheme by an annual grant; or, if he will state to the House the position in which the matter now stands?
§ MR. HUNT,in reply, said, he had referred the amended proposal to the Accountant General of the Navy; but that, in consequence of the pressure in the Department occasioned by the preparation of the Estimates, the Report had not yet been made, and therefore he was unable at present to make any statement on the subject.
