§ MR. ONSLOWasked Mr. Attorney General, If it is in contemplation to abolish the holding of assizes in the county of Surrey; and, if so, whether he will state to the House the reasons for this determination?
THE ATTORNEY GENERAL, in reply, said, that an Order in Council stated that it was not contemplated by the Judicature Act that Surrey was to be included in any circuit; but commissions were to be issued into it not loss than twice a year for the discharge of civil and criminal business therein, and therefore the Assizes for that county would not be abolished.
