HC Deb 28 April 1876 vol 228 c1832
MR. ANDERSON

asked the Postmaster General, If he can explain why the works for the new Post Office at Glasgow have been stopped; and whether it be not the fact that the city authorities have given formal notice to the Postmaster of the dangerous condition in which part of the old building has been left?

LORD JOHN MANNERS

Advices, Sir, with reference to a new Post Office at Glasgow, are now being received by the Offices of Works. The condition of the existing building has received our constant attention, and a further Report has been sent to the First Commissioner of Works by the Surveyor in Scotland, in which I understand that measures are recommended with the view of securing more complete safety.
