HC Deb 24 May 1875 vol 224 c786
SIR PATRICK O'BRIEN

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether he will recommend to the Police Commissioners the propriety of authorizing some increase of the fares for cabs hired between the hours of midnight and 6 of the clock a.m.

MR. ASSHETON CROSS

, in reply, said, that, on inquiry, he had found the demand for cabs during the night hours had very much diminished since the passing of the Licensing Act of 1874, and that he had no intention at present of recommending an increase of the fares.
