§ MR. WHALLEYSir, in pursuance of an intimation which the right hon. Gentleman in the Chair permitted me to give to him, it is my intention to ask the House to allow me an opportunity of making a personal explanation. It refers to a statement made by the right hon. Baronet the Member for Tamworth (Sir Robert Peel) yesterday week, and this is the first opportunity I have had since my return to town of calling the attention of the House to it. I do not see the right hon. Baronet in his place, although I gave him Notice two or three days ago about it and again yesterday; and as he is not present it would be more satisfactory to my own feelings if the House would allow me to state that I will call attention to the subject at half-past 4 o'clock on Thursday next and give the explanation then which I was prepared to offer now.
