In Dublin, £3,000 has been so applied, and in Edinburgh £1,400, and the residue was surrendered at the end of the financial year to the Exchequer. With reference to the cost of the Post Office establishments in these cities, according to the Estimate of this year, the cost of the establishment in Dublin is £52,000, and in Edinburgh £37,000, as compared with £49,000 in Dublin, and £34,000 in Edinburgh in the previous year.
