HC Deb 22 March 1875 vol 223 cc139-40
MR. FRENCH

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland, Whether it is the intention of Her Majesty's Government to introduce a Bill this Session for the continuance of "The Glebe Loan (Ireland) Act, 1870," which expires in September next?

SIR MICHAEL HICKS-BEACH

, in reply, said, that the subject had been brought under his notice by the right hon. and learned Baronet the Member for Clare (Sir Colman O'Loghlen) during the debate on the Bill introduced this Session by the hon. Member for Downpatrick (Mr. Mulholland). He was not yet able to announce whether it would be his lot to introduce a Bill that Session for the continuance of the Act. It would be necessary that some communications should first pass between the Treasury and himself and the Lord Chancellor of Ireland, who was expected very shortly in London.
