HC Deb 14 June 1875 vol 224 c1813
MR. EVELYN ASHLEY

asked the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies, Whether he will lay upon the Table of the House that portion of the Report of the Select Committee of the Canadian Legislature on Immigration which relates to the emigration of pauper children from this country; and to the statements concerning it made by Mr. Doyle, an Inspector of the Local Government Board?

MR. J. LOWTHER

, in reply, side, the Report of the Committee of the Dominion House of Commons to which the hon. and learned Gentleman referred only reached his noble Friend the Secretary of State late on Saturday, so that he had not yet had sufficient time to enter into the necessary communication with the Local Government Board upon the subject. He would, however, let the hon. and learned Gentleman know as soon as a decision had been arrived at.
