HC Deb 19 July 1875 vol 225 c1653
MR. ERRINGTON

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether he proposes to carry out the recommendation of the Royal Commission on Officers' Grievances connected with the abolition of Purchase in the case of those officers who were compulsorily placed on half-pay previous to the abolition of Purchase— That if and when they are brought back to full-pay to serve in a regiment they should be entitled to the advantages which in that case they would have had under the old system, and receive on retirement whatever they would have received by way of bonus or over-regulation money, if that retirement had taken place before the Act?

MR. GATHORNE HARDY

Sir, if the hon. Member will look at the Estimate relating to the Army Purchase Commission for the past financial year, he will find a sum taken for the purpose of carrying out that recommendation.
