§ MR. JACKSONasked the Under Secretary of State for the Colonies, Whether an Act has been passed by the Parliament of the Dominion of Canada by which a Supreme Court of Appeal for all the Provinces of the Dominion has been constituted; and, whether such Act has received the Royal Assent?
§ MR. J. LOWTHER, in reply, said, an Act constituting a Supreme Court of Canada, with Appellate Jurisdiction, was passed during the late Session of the 617 Dominion Parliament, and assented to by the Governor General. The Act was now engaging the attention of Her Majesty's Government, who were considering the clauses which related to the Appellate Jurisdiction, but had not yet been advised as to their effect with regard to Appeals to the Privy Council.
