Whether his attention has been called to the inequality of the Government Grant in aid of medical expenditure by the parochial boards in Scotland as compared with the Grant for the same purpose to poor law unions in England; and, whether it is his intention to place the two Countries in this respect on the same footing?
THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHE-QUER,in reply, said, he was aware there was a difference in the grants in aid of the medical expenditure in the two countries; but he was not, at present, prepared to make any proposal for an alteration of the system.
