HC Deb 09 June 1874 vol 219 c1269
MR. ONSLOW

asked the First Commissioner of Works, Whether his answer to a Question regarding a Memorial recently received from Civil Servants employed in the Ordnance Survey, in which he stated that these Civil Servants were not regarded as permanent officers, had any reference to the superannuation now granted to them?

LORD HENRY LENNOX

, in reply, said, that if any such misapprehension existed as that which was referred to, he was much obliged to his hon. Friend for giving him an opportunity of clearing it up. The Answer which he gave on the 18th of May did not refer to superannuation. On the contrary, the Civil Servants employed in the Ordnance Survey who had qualified themselves by examination before the Civil Service Commissioners would undoubtedly be entitled to superannuation hereafter.
