HC Deb 09 July 1874 vol 220 c1354
MR. MITCHELL HENRY

asked Mr. Attorney General for Ireland, Whether it is intended, under the twelfth Clause of the Irish Judicature Bill, that the office of Lord Chancellor in Ireland shall be made a permanent office held during good behaviour, like the other superior judgeships?

THE ATTORNEY GENERAL FOR IRELAND (Dr. BALL)

, in reply, said, that it was not proposed that the Bill should in any way interfere with the position of the office of Lord Chancellor in Ireland as it at present existed.
