HC Deb 28 April 1874 vol 218 c1261
MR. SAMUELSON

asked the First Lord of the Admiralty, Whether the Government have received any report or other information from Mr. Froude on the capabilities of the "Devastation" for ocean service, and whether he is prepared to communicate such information to the House?

MR. HUNT

Mr. Froude has been on board the Devastation during her trials, and has sent to the Admiralty from time to time the result of his observation of the performances of the ship. His communications on the subject are not at present in a sufficiently connected shape to lay upon the Table of the House.
