Order read, for resuming Adjourned Debate on Amendment proposed to Question [27th April], "That Mr. Speaker do now leave the Chair" (for Committee of Supply); and which Amendment was, To leave out from the word "That" to the end of the Question, in order to add the words thus House is of opinion, that, in the interests of civilization and commerce, it would not now be desirable to withdraw from the administration of the affairs of the Gold Coast,"—(Mr. Hanbury,)

—instead thereof.

Question again proposed, "That the words proposed to be left out stand part of the Question."

MR. HANBURY

said, he would withdraw his Resolution on this subject, on the understanding that he would be able to bring it forward on Monday-next as a substantive Motion.

Amendment, by leave, withdrawn.
