SIR JOHN HAY

, who had a Motion on the Paper relating to the Order for going into Committee of Supply directed against the expenditure of money on the building of Armoured Ships of a speed of less than ten knots, and in favour of applying it to the necessary repairs of Iron-clads, said he would postpone the Motion to make way for the statement of the First Lord of the Admiralty if the right hon. Gentleman would consent to Votes 6 and 10, which related to shipbuilding, being postponed, so that he might have another opportunity of calling attention to the matter.

MR. HUNT

said, he would accept the proposal of his right hon. and gallant Friend with regard to those Votes.
