MR. M. T. BASSasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department, Whether he is prepared on a convenient opportunity to introduce a measure to remedy the admitted defects of the Law of Imprisonment for debt?
MR. ASSHETON CROSS, in reply, said, that after the difference of opinion which had been expressed he could not adopt the phrase "admitted defects of the Law;" but if the hon. Member would suggest a remedy that was not on the lines on which his Bill was drawn, he would give the subject due consideration.
