MR. SPEAKER

informed the House, that he had received from Mr. Justice Mellor, one of the Judges selected for the Trial of Election Petitions, pursuant to the Parliamentary Elections Act, 1868, a Report relating to the Election for the Borough of Stockport. And the same was read, to the effect following:— I beg to report that the summons for leave to withdraw the said Petition came on to be heard before me this day, and that no person claiming to be intitled having applied for leave to be substituted for the Petitioners, and I being satisfied that the withdrawal of such Petition was not the result of any corrupt arrangement or in consideration of the withdrawal of any other Petition made an order for the withdrawal of the same.
