HC Deb 22 May 1873 vol 216 c272
MR. GREVILLE-NUGENT

asked the Secretary of State for War, Whether it is in contemplation to place the Bands of Militia Regiments in the United Kingdom on the same footing, with respect to an annual allowance, as enjoyed by the Bands of Regiments of the Line?

MR. CAMPBELL-BANNERMAN

The cost of music, so far as it is necessary for military purposes, in Regiments of Militia, is defrayed at present by the public. This will continue to be the case; but it is not intended to do anything further.
