HC Deb 24 March 1873 vol 215 cc11-2
MR. PLUNKET

asked the Chief Secretary for Ireland, Whether he will now lay upon the Table of the House the Reports made to the Government before the beginning of the present Session by the Commissioners appointed to inquire into the case of the Irish Civil Service?

THE CHANCELLOR OF THE EXCHEQUER (for The Marquess of HARTINGTON)

said, that three Reports had been received, one at the beginning of the Session, the other two more recently. There had not been time to consider the Reports, and as they contained matters of great importance, it would not be proper to lay them on the Table before the Government had an opportunity of making up its mind on the subject. He could not say how soon they would be able to do so.
