HC Deb 06 March 1873 vol 214 c1396
MR. MITCHELL HENRY

asked the Right honourable Member for East Sussex, Whether he proposes that the Select Committee to which he desires to refer the University Education (Ireland) Bill shall take evidence?

MR. DODSON,

in reply, said, his object in proposing a Select Committee was that it should go through the clauses of the Bill. Of course, it would be open to the Committee when it met, if it should be of opinion that it was desirable to take evidence, to apply to the House for power to do so.

COLONEL STUART KNOX

said, that, in the event of the Motion of the right hon. Member for East Sussex being proceeded with, he would move the addition of the following words:—"And that the Committee do consist of 15 members to be nominated by the Committee of Selection."
