HC Deb 11 March 1872 vol 209 cc1752-3
MR. GOURLEY

asked the Secretary of State for War, If it is his intention to hold a Camp of Instruction in the north of England this year, similar to the one held last year in the neighbourhood of Aldershot; and, if so, where, and at what period of the year, and also what number of Troops will be allowed to take part in it?

MR. CARDWELL

Sir, provision is made in the Estimates now before the House for the assembling of troops for military manœuvres this year upon the same scale as that of last year. Various places have been examined by officers appointed for that purpose, but no conclusion has as yet been come to as to any particular place.
